Located on the interior harbor of Marblehead Neck, this 4,300 SF home was renovated to reflect a modern, coastal aesthetic. Working with half of the existing structure, previous additions were blended into a more cohesive design. Variations of the Shingle style were explored with the final design incorporating unique details such as an eyebrow entry, long gambrel profiles, and shingled eaves. The plan was reimagined to accommodate a formal entrance approached from a stairway at the base of the site, the garage was moved to the opposite side, and a light-filled sunroom was added in its place. The clients’ desire for a forever home resulted in the guest rooms on the second floor and a fully ADA-compliant first level composed of all primary spaces.
