Harbor's Edge
Marblehead, MA

The firm’s first project in Marblehead, a 7,400 SF home on the harbor’s edge. The main residence and carriage house are positioned around a large katsura tree, creating an intimate courtyard. Upon entry to the main house, there is an immediate view of the ocean and the proceeding spaces are organized to further emphasize the connection, each opening to an expansive porch. The home has an old-world, tactile feel exuded through carefully crafted details like hand-scraped, stained, and finished wide oak board flooring, and in the oval space connecting the dining room and living room a compass rose is molded on the ceiling over a stained map of Marblehead on the floor.
